Tina

Tina is another one of the dogs who came to us from the heartbreaking neglect situation involving multiple dogs being kept outside in cages. They had little to no food, were covered in fleas and ticks, and were drinking from mud puddles. A game warden discovered the dogs and reached out to us for help. Tina is the mom to many of the dogs from this group, and after everything she has been through, we are ready for someone to finally take care of her.<br/><br/>Tina is a little shy when she first meets you, but underneath that timid exterior is an incredibly sweet girl who loves affection. Once she realizes you are there to be kind to her, she soaks up the attention. We can only imagine how little individual love and attention she received in her previous life, so watching her learn to trust people has been wonderful.<br/><br/>Tina does well with the other dogs from her group and is currently housed with some of the other girls. She seems to enjoy their company and has adjusted well to being around them.<br/><br/>Unfortunately, Tina is also heartworm positive. She has started treatment, but heartworm treatment is a process that takes approximately 3–4 months to complete. She doesn't have to spend all of that time waiting in the shelter for a family. If Tina is adopted before her treatment is finished, her adopter will need to bring her back to us for her remaining scheduled treatments. She is spayed and weighs 41.1 pounds.<br/><br/>Since arriving, Tina has been getting the food, veterinary care, and attention she desperately needed. Every day she is learning that there will always be food in her bowl, clean water to drink, a comfortable place to sleep, and people who want nothing more than to love her.<br/><br/>We aren't sure exactly what breed Tina and the rest of the group are. Because of their history of originally coming from North Carolina, our best guess is that they may be Mountain Cur mixes.<br/><br/>Tina has spent enough of her life taking care of puppies and simply trying to survive. Now it's her turn to be someone's baby. She deserves a patient, loving home where she can continue building confidence and discover just how good life can be.
