Tilly's Story

Not so tiny Tilly comin' through! This girl may be packing 64lbs of muscle but she is the sweets thing ever and wants nothing but attention all day! Tilly was dumped here in The Dalles, kicked out of a car and left behind to fend for herself. Even though she was treated so poorly by humans she did not let that hurt translate over to her interactions with CGHS staff, she has been a doll for every thing we throw her way. Tilly has been slowly wiggling her way into all our hearts (and our laps) here at the shelter.

While Tilly was in the shelter she managed to make some dog friends, she had fun with a larger high energy male and enjoyed a day trip to a foster house that had two older calmer dogs both male and female. Tilly started living with an amazing foster about 1 month ago and while she has been getting well deserved love, new behaviors have popped up as well as some health issues. Tilly is in need of a TPLO (leg surgery), CGHS is fundraising and receiving donations specifically for her surgery but we are hoping to find either an experienced MEDICIAL FOSTER or her furever home. I will include an expert from her wonderful foster on how she's doing below!

Foster feedback:
"Tilly is the biggest cuddle bug you'll ever meet. She wants nothing more than to drape herself over you and stare lovingly into your eyes. She lives for couch time. The more hands petting her the better! She loves doing silly trust-falls on the couch, where she'll back up into you and gently flop backwards into your lap. She loves to lay upside down, belly up, and you'll catch her sunbathing that way sometimes too!

She is a pretty quiet dog, rarely barks, and if she's really happy to see you she'll do a low AWOOO in celebration! She loves men, women, and kids, and wants to say hi to everyone on walks, but sometimes her zoomies in the yard can get a little mouthy. She is a perfect house guest, fully potty trained, and does not chew on stuff! Even when left alone in the house for a few hours, she is non-destructive and just patiently snoozes until you return. She loves her stuffed toys, and will play with them herself by tossing them around. She sleeps really well through the night on a dog bed beside you -- though she'd obviously prefer to be IN your bed, and to her credit she makes a great little spoon.

She is working on her leash walking, because she is still excited and a bit anxious outside. If she's on a low traffic trail that she is familiar with, she can walk calmly. Although she has a history of having dog friends in the past, she is currently working on her dog reactivity. She struggles to see them on walks, and will need to keep working on neutrality when passing by them. She has a pretty strong prey drive, and will go after bunnies and birds. She can walk by ducks and chickens when on a leash, but if they move quickly she gets excited."

*IN FOSTER NOT LOCATED AT SHELTER*

Age: 2years
Weight: 63lbs

Fill out an application at: https://www.columbiagorgehs.org/adopt.html

(All animals adopted out of CGHS are spayed/neutered, up to date on annual vaccines including rabies, and microchipped)
