She currently weighs 18-19 pounds and is fully grown.

You may remember Tilly being posted several months ago. Unfortunately, she was dropped by an adult during a meet and greet, resulting in four broken bones in her foot. Tilly went through weeks of casting and bandage changes, and thankfully, her foot is now completely healed.

After all that with her front leg, it was noticed that her hind legs are a little different. After a myriad of x-rays, testing, and orthopedic consults, it appears that Tilly has multiple genetic anomalies in her hind legs. There are some differences with her bones in her hind legs, as well as with her patella’s a.k.a. kneecaps. Tilly’s hips are fine, which is a plus. Tilly walks and runs a little differently than other dogs, and she is shaped a little differently in her rear end than other dogs.

Her veterinary team does not feel that she is in any pain and she will live a long, normal life. Her new family will need to ensure that she remains active and is not allowed to become obese. She is not a dog that is going to be able to go for long walks, but she loves to ride in a stroller. She also adores being carried and it’s her favorite position from which to see the world. Someday Tilly may benefit from a wheelchair, but today is not that day.

Tilly likes other nice dog friends. She has lived with cats in one of her foster homes as well. She has lived with older, dog savvy kids. Tilly will not be a good candidate for a home with very young children who could fall or jump on her. Tilly is crate trained and house trained when kept on a schedule. She would do great in a basic training class to learn good things with a new family too. A little time and she is going to be your very best friend.

*Each pup is spayed or neutered and current on their vet cares.

*We do not hold or reserve dogs. We do not ship or fly.
