Tillie's Story

Meet Tillie!

This little lady (35 pounds and 2.5 years old) found herself in a rural SC shelter with her young puppy, malnourished with thinning hair as a result. Halfway There Rescue stepped up for her and her puppy; her puppy has since been adopted and now it's Tillie's time to find her forever family. Tillie has been with her foster family for a little over a month now, gaining weight, growing her coat nice and shiny, and building her confidence.

Tillie loves to play - fetch, tug-o-war, chewing on bones, meticulously locating and excising a squeaker - you name it, she's down. She also loves to go on walks and, while the world can feel intimidating for her at times, she still loves to sniff and explore and will dance in circles of excitement when she hears the leash pulled out of the drawer.

If you're looking for cuddles, look no further, Tillie is an expert cuddler! She loves pets and kisses and will lean her weight into you in the most adorable way to say thank you and encourage the pets to continue. She loves nothing more than lounging on the couch with her people, resting her head in their lap.

Tillie is house trained and crate trained. She knows her basic commands - sit, down, shake. She's a quick learner and happy to learn a new trick if treats are involved.

We've discovered that, while Tillie likes to play with select dogs at times, she would do best in a home as the only pet. Tillie has spent a few days with a 4 year old, and while she did fine, we think she would be best suited to either a home with no kids or older kids who are respectful of her space. Tillie really loves her humans hard and wants to be the center of your universe if you'll have her!

---
To apply to adopt, please follow the steps for adoption on HalfwayThereRescue.com/Adoption-Process and apply directly here: https://fs26.formsite.com/htrnp/a2k3lsooud/index.html
