Tillie's Story

Hi, I’m Tillie! I’m a 1-year-old (born October 3, 2024), 40-pound Lab/Shepherd mix with a heart as big as my story. I was found wandering a construction site, doing my best to survive—and being the brave, trusting girl I am, I was the only one who let kind humans come close. Not long after, they discovered my puppies tucked safely in a fox den nearby. Now that my mama duties are behind me, I’m ready for my next chapter: being someone’s beloved companion.

Here’s what makes me pretty special:

Playful Explorer – Whether I’m chasing lizards or heading out on a walk, I’m always up for a little adventure.

Dog-Loving Socialite – I absolutely love other dogs and would be thrilled to have a furry sibling.

Affectionate Companion – I adore my people and love being close (with just the right mix of independence too!).

Happy-Go-Lucky Spirit – My personality is full of joy, curiosity, and playful energy.

I’m fully potty trained and doing well with leash walking—pretty impressive, right? I don’t need a crate, though I’m still figuring out what I think about it. I can have a little bit of initial whimpering when left alone, but I settle fairly quickly. I’ve got moderate energy, meaning I’d love daily walks and playtime, but I’m not looking to run a marathon—unless it’s after a lizard. I can be a little unsure in new situations, but with love and consistency, my confidence continues to grow.

My dream home would include a yard to explore, maybe a doggy sibling to play with, and humans who enjoy spending time with me. I’d do best in a home where I’m not crated for long hours and where I can be part of the family’s daily life. I love being with my people and would thrive with someone who’s around often.

My adoption fee is $400, this fee covers my first year of vaccinations, spay, and microchip. Do I sound like the dog for you? You can fill out an application to adopt me at http://www.thecantufoundation.org
