Tiger's Story

This friendly and energetic boy is a bundle of joy who loves life, loves to play, and has enough enthusiasm to fill any room he walks into. Tiger gets along well with some other dogs, especially medium or smaller pups who can match his energy.

Like many dogs with a past, Tiger is still building his confidence around new settings and can be protective of himself and his people. This isn't a flaw, it's just Tiger letting you know he needs someone he can really trust. With the right experienced handler who understands canine body language and knows how to build a solid bond, Tiger opens up fully.

He's got his leash manners down and thrives with structure, exercise, and mental stimulation. A securely fenced yard is a must for this guy, and a calm and patient household will help him feel secure enough to truly flourish. Tiger is looking for an adopter who sees his potential and is willing to put in the time to earn his trust. If you have experience with sensitive dogs and are ready for a loyal and rewarding partnership, Tiger just might be your perfect match.

We want to make adopting as seamless as possible while ensuring you and your new canine companion are a perfect match. 1. Please note that we do not finalize adoptions at these events; we invite all potential adopters to submit an application before visiting our rescue for a personalized experience. 2. Submit Your Application Found a dog that catches your eye? Head to hlcr.org to submit an online application. Our current adoption fee is $225, which fully covers their spay/neuter surgery, microchip, deworming, vaccinations, and a comprehensive vet check. If multiple families are interested in the same pup, we will always let you know. 3. Schedule a Meet-and-Greet Once your application is reviewed, we will contact you to schedule a private visit to our rescue. To ensure harmony at home, we ask that you bring all human family members and any current dogs to this session. There is absolutely no pressure—take all the time you need to make sure it's a great fit. 4. Welcome Your New Best Friend Home! When you're ready to make it official, we will provide you with: Complete medical and behavioral history. Your dog’s microchip registration info (which we will help you transfer).
