Tiger’s FAQs

What is Okmulgee Humane Society’s adoption process?

Adoption fee includes full vetting: spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations, deworming, flea & tick prevention and heartworm test if over 6 months of age. Adoptions of large dogs over 20 lbs. must have a fully fenced-in yard, so they can have ample play off-leash, safely. For adopters, all pets within the home must be current on heartworm prevention, vaccinations, spayed/neutered, and on flea prevention, as our humane society has put forth all vetting to ensure our adoptable is safe and healthy for your family. In one heartworm-positive pet's kennel, 7 of 10 mosquitoes will be heartworm positive, thus it is important to ensure pets' safety.
