Thor's Story
**Located in New Hampshire.**

Meet Thor!

Thor is one lucky guy and it truly seems like he knows it. He approaches each day with pure joy and enthusiasm! Thor is lucky because he started out life in the south, where a family got him as a puppy and put him on a chain in their yard. For the next year and a half, they barely acknowledged him. He had no shelter, no dog house, no toys, nothing. He eventually became so overloaded with parasites that he couldn’t keep any food down when he ate. He was so ill that the family was convinced to surrender Thor to a local rescue. The rescue took him into a foster home, where they gave him the medical care and love Thor so desperately needed. He gained weight (currently 48lbs), got up-to-date on vaccines and preventatives, and was neutered. He’s heartworm negative and microchipped.

Thor is so ready to become someone’s soul dog. He is joy in a fur suit! He is so happy to do anything with his human, and so eager to please. He has not had much in the way of training, but he truly is a diamond in the rough. Calm, loving, all-positive training — anything that gently shows him what you want from him — will turn this pup into the most amazing companion. He’s excited (to be off that chain, probably!) and initially jumpy with people. His enthusiasm is catching, but he definitely needs some direction and consistency to become the best doggie buddy he can be. He does well in a crate and has shown himself to be pretty trustworthy in home settings as well. He’s ready to tackle the other behaviors and fine-tuning he needs!

We are looking for a home where Thor can be the only pet in the home. While he lived without issue with many other dogs in the southern foster’s home, we have found that one-on-one he is dog selective. In his current foster home, he has a best friend that is a very easygoing, calm pup and they love hanging out together. But Thor will thrive as an only dog, as he is most interested in his human and what his human wants. He truly is a once-in-a-lifetime-soul-dog in the making. The extraordinarily lucky person that sees Thor for the incredible companion he is will be rewarded with the kind of unconditional love that people dream of when they imagine a doggy companion. Could you be Thor’s person?

https://www.livefreerescue.com/adoption-application
