THOR #20042862 South Dakota's Story
Age/Sex: 3 year 6 month old neutered male

Details: House broken, Crate trained, Obedience, OK with dogs. Needs Fence

Location: Garretson, South Dakota

Email Address: Cheryl Basma at collanne@hotmail.com

Phone: 605-310-9301

Online Adoption Application: www.americanbrittanyrescue.org or
https://americanbrittanyrescue.org/ adoption-application/

Dog Story
Thor is a 3 year old French Brittany, who came to us courtesy of a breeder. He is a very loving boy, who loves to run, chew on toys, towels, paper, etc. But he does listen to the word “no” very well. If I catch him doing something he shouldn’t be doing, I tell him “no” and he stops immediately. Thor is a little peanut, only 30 pounds and smaller than our other American Brittanys.

He wasn’t living in a family situation; he was more in a kennel type environment. Living in a home has been a new experience for Thor, but he is adjusting very well. He has had some issues with marking, but it is becoming less of a problem every day.

He doesn’t mind being in the kennel during the day, when we are both at work. But once I let him out, he is outside running and running and running. We only use the kennel during the day, when we are not home.

Thor has learned all about toys and bones! He has 2 entire laundry baskets to pick out of and loves to play with the toys (sometimes field dressing them) and chew on the bones. We have had to introduce him to treats – Thor had no clue what they were! He has found out they are really good! He earns milk bones by going in his crate willingly and treats whenever we can.

Thor has been learning being around people is pretty good – petting scared him at first, but we found if you approached his head from below, he was comfortable with it. He is loving the attention he is getting from us and the other 3 britts he is living with.

Thor is currently living on an acreage and has about 5 acres to run free on. He has been introduced to an invisible fence and has done well on it.
