Theo's Story
Theo is here, checking back in to let you know that he's still awaiting his forever home. Theo was rescued from a hoarding situation in AL so he is a little bit of a special placement as he's still learning what it means to live in a home and be a member of the family. He is here in Maine, in foster, and his foster says that he is coming out of his shell and growing confidence, although he may be a bit shy at first when he goes to his forever home. He is a small breed mix weighing in at about 20ish lbs and is estimated to be about two years old.

He is potty trained but sometimes will have accidents in the home when he is nervous or overstimulated. His foster has noticed that he is easily redirectable. He has learned to walk on leash and is doing really well with his walks. He is crate trained for night time- he protests a bit when he needs to go into his crate but then settles and happily sleeps through the night. He would do best in a home where his people are home more often than not and he would also love another calm dog in the home. He has not lived with cats so we are unsure how he would do with cats. He likes kids but gets overstimulated so we would recommend a home with kids that are teens or a home without kids. He would do fine with the occasional visit from grandkids. He is very snuggly and would love if his new pawrents would play ball with him- the tennis ball is his favorite!

Theo does have a medical condition that is controlled with medication. He's a loving, soft little guy that really deserves to find his forever home where he can finally breathe a sigh of relief that he is home!

If you think you might be interested in adopting Theo or just want to get pre-approved to adopt through us, please fill out an application on our website. Approvals are valid for one year and you will not have the waiting period of an application if you see a dog that you like! Approved adopters are placed on our email list for each transport and receive our Google slides that we send to all pre-approved adopters before posting on Petfinder and our social media and are eligible to attend our meet and greet events.
