Say hello to Theo, a 2-year-old Australian Shepherd mix with the softest ears and at the sweetest personality. Theo is happiest when he’s getting lots of attention, lots of activity, and lots of treats.<br/><br/>Theo is afraid of other dogs, so he would thrive in a quieter, rural or suburban home with a fenced yard and few canine neighbors, where he can relax, explore, and not run into dogs around every corner. He’s a classic herding dog … wants to be by your side and wants to join you in the garden in the summer and in the garage in the winter. He would do well with an experienced dog owner, and even better with someone who has experience with and love for herding dogs.<br/><br/>He is good with all humans, whether friends or strangers, but he is shy at first. When he feels overwhelmed, he will bark or lunge, so in the city he wears a basket muzzle on walks as a precaution to prevent an inadvertent bite from his reactivity or redirection.<br/><br/>He has lived with another dog before and might do well with the right match, but he’d be perfectly happy as an only pet in a consistent home where he can just be himself. Theo has not been cat tested.<br/><br/>If you think your home might be the right fit for Theo, you can learn more or apply through Rogers’ Rescues.
