Theo 's Story
Personality:
Sweet, snuggly & overwhelmingly sensitive.

Theo wants to be in your lap and as close to physically touching you as possible. He will lean into you and climb up onto you if allowed.

Theo is also a very sensitive soul that needs time to take in new requests, situations, and environments. He doesn’t take lightly to being forced or cornered into doing something. However, if you put your dog trainer cap on and set him up with choices he will perform just about anything for you.

He is very loyal and would love to spend every waking moment by your side. Once bonded he will ensure that you are safe from the neighbor's cat, the UPS truck, or the jogger passing your house.

Favorite Activities:
Swimming
Rolling in fresh grass
Cuddles, LOTS OF CUDDLES!
Mealtime
Affection
Formal training sessions - like when you teach him a new trick.

Leash Walking:
Theo is extremely well-behaved on a leash. He will hardly pull unless he is being reactive about something.

Some people struggle with taking him for walks because if he gets over-aroused due to stress or exposition he will turn to the handler and begin jumping up and mouthing the person and leash.

Dog-Dog Introductions:
Sometimes fine sometimes not. He is considered dog selective. He is not outwardly aggressive toward other dogs.

He has many dog friends that he likes and gets along with incredibly well.

He dislikes and will appear aggressive (from what we have observed) towards bully breeds, squished-faced dogs, brindle dogs, and males more than females but I don’t think sex is a good predictor of if he will dislike a dog or not.

Historically he has not been friendly with Boxers, and English Bulldogs, and there was one brindle Plot Hound (we don’t know what that was about).

Again, he is dog selective. It will take getting to know him and carefully introducing him to other dogs. When he doesn’t like someone just drop it he probably won’t like them the next time he sees them either. Then with that said there have been dogs we didn’t think he liked that when we dropped the leashes and removed the fences he got along with famously!

Dog-Other Animal Interactions:
He is all about the chase and never even threatened to bite or cause harm to another animal.

Cats - He will do bluff charges at them to get them to run and gets very excited and frustrated if you hold him back. If the cat doesn’t run he has been known to cuddle and hang out with a very dog-savvy cat.

Goats - initially he wanted to chase them but quickly got over it. Since then he has made no effort to charge the fence. He got an opportunity once to chase some goats but after that opportunity was removed he became disinterested.

Horses - He was very scared and timid of them but not aggressive or reactive at all. In time he has come to ignore them.

Cows - Scard and very uncertain. He needed to be guided away to safety as you can visibly see his stress going up and up. If he felt too threatened by any animal he could offer a lung and strike.

Chickens - Again he charges and wants to chase. Though he never opens his mouth to grab them I’m not as confident that he wouldn’t harm a chicken if he caught it.

Dear - he loses his mind because they usually run and he wants to chase them so bad. He will quiver if you hold him back and he spots a dear.

Has been known to catch a mouse before. I have also witnessed him pouncing on mole holes in an attempt to catch them. I would say he is a hunter when it comes to small animals that run.

It would be wise to be careful with him around farm animals and wildlife off-leash.

Video Playlist: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLxX3PZ-H5c80OKCC7C0nUbK5xCVTQlPch

Full Profile and Notes Avalible.
