Meet Theo
What is your name? Theo
How old are you? About 1 1/2
How much do you weigh? 60lbs
What do you look like? I look like Petey from Rascals! I have a black patch over one eye and have black and white spots all over.
What kind of personality do you have? I can be a little shy at first, more so with men. I need an owner who will be patient with me, it just takes a little time for my personality to come out.
I’m quite confident at home and in my back yard, but still learning the world outside. My foster dad takes me on bike rides and walks around the neighborhood that is more fun for me than car rides. I’ve have met some friends and sometimes I get to go to the office with my foster dad.
Describe your perfect day. Hanging out in the big backyard with my pup foster brother and sister, and playing a lot. We had 4 puppies and I liked it because I have a lot of energy and like to play with them. It is so much fun! At night we all snuggle around the house and sometimes I’m allowed to sleep in the bed.
What is your favorite toy? Kongs and chewy things.
Do you know any tricks? I know sit, stay, off, I’m a clever boy and eager to learn.
What are you eating? My foster daddy does raw feed, so I get the best and freshest food possible!
What scares you? I’m still learning to understand people and things are ok. I take my time getting to know them.
Have you been around children, do you like them? I haven’t been around children too much and maybe in time I’ll realize they’ll treat me well, too.
Do you like cats? Not sure. I really don’t know what they are.
How do you feel about other dogs? I get along great with my siblings. I do well on walks, when I see new dogs I am curious, like many dogs, I need a proper introduction.
If you could be anywhere in the world where would it be? I love the backyard and could spend the whole day playing with my foster siblings
How is your health? I’m very healthy and strong.
Where do you hang out when you are home alone? In the backyard or the house.
Do you like walking on a leash! I’m good on the leash I go biking, hiking and running with my dad and all the other dogs.
Do you have any not so great habits that we should know about for instance do you bark or dig in the yard? Since I’m a dog I bark when somebody is around our house and I also help the foster puppies to dig holes. I am very helpful with hole digging!
Are you house trained? Yes!
Do you like water? We go the the river, but since it’s to cold we havn’t been swimming yet.
What do you love about your current family? My foster dad let me be me, he was patient in letting us get to know each other.
Wally the pit bull, my foster brother is my best buddy and Layla my foster sister a big German Shepard makes sure I don’t get to silly. I’m very gentle with my foster puppies as well and teach them to respect other dogs.
What was your life like before being rescued by your current family? It isn’t such a great beginning for a growing pup my owner kept me and my 5 siblings in a garage for 6 months w/o too much outside interaction. Then they decided to take us all to the SPCA, we were in danger because we didn’t know the outside world at all. Luckily we got some time w/ a trainer for evaluation, of course we came out of our shells and luckily when we went back to the shelter NorCal Bully Breed Rescue found foster homes for ALL OF US!
Theo and his 5 littermates were born May 2016. One of his littermates new mom had a DNA test done which determined they’re American Staff, Boston Terrier, Bull Terrier, and Boxer.
NorCal Bully Breed Rescue is a foster based rescue with foster homes spread all throughout the Sacramento area. We usually require our adopters to be within a 50 to 100 mile radius of us, depending on the dog, and depending on the home. This is because we need to do a yard check to guarantee that the potential adopter's yard is secure, and also have them be close enough should any behavioral issues arise, and the assistance of our trainer is needed. We are, however, willing to adopt out of our area, including the Bay Area, Tahoe, and even further. We've even adopted out of state on very special occasions. We try our best to match our dogs to the perfect homes, and match them based on their personalities, not their looks. Adoptions are not done on a first come, first serve basis, rather in the order of what homes are the right match for that particular dog. Our adoption fees are based on the dog and range from $200-$350. In the case of senior dogs (6+ years), fees will be waived to the right home. This includes spay/neuter, vaccines, microchip, and deworming (if necessary).
Theo's adoption donation is $200.
