Thelma and Louise's Story
March 22, 2024, welcome to rescue:

Thelma and Louise are a bonded pair of very sweet girls who are looking for a forever home and family who will be happy to welcome them both together. Both are pretty well potty trained overall, although they still need some encouragement during cold, snowy, rainy weather (don’t they all?), and they are pee pad trained.

They both LOVE attention, and love to snuggle next to you, getting pets and tummy rubs. They both love to play too, with zoomie run-arounds and Louise still even has a puppy personality very often. She loves to carry her dog dish around at times, to remind you when it is time to be fed (just in case you forget!). Louise also enjoys shredding toilet paper and grabbing napkins/kleenex laying around so beware!

They do well on a leash and on walks, and riding in the car. They also do very well around other dogs. We are unsure of how they will be around younger children or cats, but they are very social and allow others to pet them and they do well around older/teenage children.

They love to sleep in their bed, most often together, although they do enjoy some independent time away from each other as well. They alternate sleeping between the bedroom and laying by the fireplace in the family room.

They enjoy being outside exploring the yard on nice, sunny days, chasing squirrels and birds, and both do very well with a doggy door. Thelma does occasionally like to bark at the neighbor dogs, but it is not excessive and she does stop when told “no”.

Both are in excellent health overall, however both have had multiple extractions with their recent dental cleanings. They have healed well and are eating dry dog food again. Thelma is a bit overweight, and her foster family has been helping her to lose some of those extra pounds. The vet would like to see her lose 3-5 more pounds.

Thelma and Louise are wonderfully sweet dogs! They are both protective of each other, they are smart, well behaved, mostly potty trained (and really good about holding it – especially overnight) and both are very loving and affectionate dogs. Thelma and Louise will make excellent additions to your family and will bring you much joy.

Thelma, age 7-8 years, Fawn and white, 21 pounds
HEALTH: Spayed; recent dental with several extractions, slightly overweight but in good health overall

Louise, Age 4-5 years, Seal and white, 14 pounds

HEALTH: Spayed, recent dental with several extractions, otherwise good overall health

If you are interested in adopting these two lovely ladies, please contact Bobbie at coloradoigrescue@msn.com
