THE MIRACLE 3- COMING SOON's Story

THE MIRACLE THREE — They Were Supposed to Die. Instead, They Got a Second Chance.

These three puppies are here today because someone refused to let their story end before it had even begun.

Their mother, a Great Pyrenees, was taken to a veterinary clinic to be spayed. At the clinic, it was discovered that she was carrying nine full-term puppies.

And when their owner was told?

She didn't want them.

She told the veterinarian to euthanize the puppies. She didn't want anything to do with them. She wanted them euthanized and was prepared to walk away.

But the veterinarian was faced with an ethical dilemma and couldn't bring herself to end nine lives that had a chance.

So instead of euthanizing them, she picked up the phone and called us.

And we said yes.

The veterinary clinic kept the babies safe overnight, and at only two days old, they came into our care.

They were completely helpless.

No mother to keep them warm.
No mother to feed them.
No mother to clean or comfort them.

Just nine tiny newborn puppies whose lives now depended entirely on people.

At two days old, puppies cannot even regulate their own body temperature. They needed around-the-clock feedings, constant monitoring and an incubator just to maintain the temperature their mother's body would normally have provided.

We knew when we took them that there were no guarantees.

And there weren't.

We lost some.

Despite everything that was done to save them, 6 of those nine tiny babies didn't make it.

That loss hurt.

But the other three kept fighting.

And so did we.

With the help of an experienced rehabilitator who stepped in during those incredibly delicate first weeks, they were fed, warmed, cleaned, monitored and cared for around the clock.

Day after day, they hung on.

Then something wonderful started happening.

They weren't just surviving anymore.

They were growing.

They got stronger. Their personalities started appearing. Those tiny, fragile babies who once had to live inside an incubator began turning into actual puppies.

And today, three are still here.

Babies whose owner wanted them euthanized, who were left behind at only days old, that required people to become everything their mother would normally have been to them.

They were given a chance — and took it.

2 Little Girls
1 Little Boy

Nadia, Mira, and Asher,

We know their mama is a Great Pyrenees. Dad's identity is anybody's guess, so exactly what these babies will look like when they're grown is one more part of their story yet to be written. Because of Mom's breed, adopters should be prepared for the possibility of a large adult dog.

Soon, these three survivors will be ready for adoption.

And after fighting this hard just to get the opportunity to grow up, we want something very different for the rest of their lives.

We want them wanted.

We want the people who adopt them to understand that bringing home a puppy means making a commitment — not just while they're tiny and adorable, but when they're grown, when they're inconvenient, when life changes and when caring for them requires effort.

Because these babies have already experienced what happens when someone decides their lives are disposable.

They will never experience that again if we have anything to say about it.

Nine puppies began this journey.

We will remember the those we couldn't save.

And we'll celebrate the 3 miracles who made it by finding each of them the kind of home they should have had from the very beginning.

3 survivors.
3 second chances.
3 families still waiting to find them.

Meet the Miracle 3.

They'll be ready for their forever homes soon.

And this time, being wanted isn't negotiable.

Note: Adoption Policy: Montague County Animal Rescue typically does not adopt dogs to homes where they will live primarily outdoors. We believe every dog deserves to be part of the family and live safely indoors. Exceptions may be made for specific breeds or unique circumstances where an outdoor environment is appropriate and secure.

All nine of them.

Nine full-term babies who were ready to enter the world — and she wanted them gone.

She didn't want to take them home. She didn't want the responsibility.

At two days old, puppies cannot even regulate their own body te
