Texas Blue's Story
LOCATION: UTAH
ADOPTABLE ANYWHERE IN THE USA

Meet Texas Blue! He's a 4 year old, 63 pound bluetick coonhound who has been stuck in a shelter in Utah and needs a foster or adopter to get out of the kennel and get back to what he does best: car rides, lounging, and being the star of the show.

Tex is affectionate and sweet with his people, and strangers get the same treatment. He wants to be friends with every person and animal he meets, and he's friendly in playgroups.

Indoors, Tex is easy. He's quiet in the house, saves his energy for when it's time to go out, AND he's house trained. He loves car rides and will happily watch the whole world go by out the window.

Now the honest part, because Tex deserves the right match: He would likely do best as a solo dog. He loves other dogs at playgroup, but after a few days of living with one, the skirmishes start. This could be the honeymoon ending and the pecking order getting sorted out, or maybe he just wants to be the center of your world and full-time sharing of space, toys, and people is just not for him. Either way, we're told that when interacting with other dogs, Tex is more of a party guest than a roommate.

He's a hound with real prey drive, so no chickens or other small critters, and we don't know how he is with cats. He's friendly with people and may be a bit too enthusiastic for younger kids, but only because he's so excited. He's vocal outdoors, like any good coonhound, and would prefer to be on the couch than in a kennel.

Shelter life is hard on Tex, and he'd love a home and family to call his own. If you've got space for a handsome, goofy coonhound who loves car rides and wants to be your very best friend, Tex is as ready to meet you as you are to meet him.

helplesshounds.com/adopt

Tex - Bluetick Coonhound - 4 Years - Utah - Fully vetted - Transport available - Available for foster or adoption nationwide
