Tessa's Story

Labeled a generic “West Virginia brown dog”, Tessa is between 9 months and a year old, One of many pups on the property where she lived, Tessa is comfortable around other dogs. Although the first impression Tessa makes is of a shy girl, but it is actually a quiet joy at the new comforts and attention she is now receiving. Gentle and calm rather than boisterous and rowdy, like other dogs her age, Tessa wags her tail instead of jumping on you. She has spent the majority of her short life in a crate, but that life is over. With her shepherd coloring and thick coat, without a frame of reference for size, you would not know that she is only around 35 lbs.

As with all shy, skittish dogs, the risk of flight is always a concern. With training, patience and understanding, Tessa would be a wonderful companion in many homes.

You can visit the dogs from noon - 3 pm Saturdays and Sundays, otherwise by appointment. We always recommend submitting an application (and a copy of recent vet records for your current pets if applicable) to info@aradopt.org.

Link to application: https://www.angelridgeanimalrescue.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Dog-Application.pdf
