Tessa's personality and soft, fluffiness will steal your heart! This beautiful 3-year-old gray and white female shepherd/collie mix is 46 lbs and will give you all her love. Tessa has an outgoing friendliness that has made her a fan of the neighborhood. She loves to play fetch with you, chew on bones (and only her bones and toys!), and quietly play with her toys. Tessa will take a rest quietly during the day in between playtime, especially when her foster mom has to work. Sometimes she will ask to go outside just to sit and watch what's going on! She looks forward to her daily walk to say hello to people and animals on the way and has excellent leash manners - no pulling and responds quickly to any correction. In general, Tessa is quiet, calm, willing to please, and extremely affectionate and cuddly. She is very smart and follows commands, learning more each day from her foster dog sister. This darling girl was surrendered after her owner suddenly passed away. Tessa was not crated in her previous owner's home and shows no need in foster, even when left home alone for a few hours. She sleeps calmly and quietly on the floor in her foster's bedroom floor at night. Tessa is a long-haired dog and will require occasional grooming so her soft and fluffy fur doesn't get matted. Tessa's previous owner had her DNA tested and she is a perfectly mixed girl of 13 breeds including McNab collie, Great Dane, and Mareema Sheepdog!

If you would like to be considered as a potential adopter for one of our great dogs, please go to our website- www.luckymuttsrescue.org and submit an application. Our application process includes landlord approval and vet checks. Please make sure all of your information is current and accurate, including a valid email address and phone numbers. Inaccuracies and/or incomplete data will delay and/or cancel your application. We strive to process all applications in a timely manner, but with the high volume of applications we are receiving, it is taking anywhere from 1-3 weeks. You may be contacted via email if there are concerns or questions. Once all of your information is reviewed and if your application is approved, you will be notified via email. Submitting an application and receiving an approval does not guarantee you will be adopting the dog you applied for. Once you move to the meet and greet process, you will be contacted by the foster family to further discuss the dog, and answer questions you may have, and if applicable, a meet and greet will be set up at our adoption center. Meet and greets are only set up with approved applicants, and we require all members in the household to be present, as well as any current dogs in the home.

Current Adoption Fees Are:
$400+tax for puppies to 3 years old
$350+tax for ages 4-7
$250+tax for ages 8 and up
Bonded pairs vary

The adoption fee covers spay/neuter, up to date age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, general deworming, heartworm test, (if over 6 months) and a certified veterinary inspection. Please be aware, listed dog breeds are based on information provided and cannot be guaranteed. Submitting an application for a particular dog does not guarantee that you will be the applicant chosen, we receive several applications for each dog. Our adopters are picked based on the needs of the dog, and the home we feel with best fit based on your responses to our application, vet information and landlord requirements. Approved applicants not chosen for the dog you applied for, will be in active status for a period of six months. We encourage you to watch Petfinder, Facebook and our website for upcoming dogs.
