Terra's Story

Meet Terra – A Gentle Soul Looking for Peace in Her Golden Years

Terra is an almost 13-year-old, 60-pound sweetheart who is searching for a soft place to land after her world was unexpectedly turned upside down. After spending 10 years in a home, Terra was returned through no fault of her own, and she’s still trying to understand all the changes around her.

Right now, in her foster home, Terra is very quiet and keeps to herself. She’s a bit scared and confused, which is completely understandable after everything she’s been through. But beneath that uncertainty is a gentle, loving dog who just needs time, patience, and a kind heart to help her feel safe again.

About Terra: Nearly 13 years old and 60 pounds, Previously lived with children and another dog, Calm and quiet in the home, House manners from years in a home environment, Looking for a peaceful, loving place to call home

Terra doesn’t need much—just a patient family willing to give her the time and space to decompress, rebuild trust, and feel secure again. In return, you’ll be giving a deserving senior the comfort, love, and dignity she deserves in her golden years.

If you believe every dog deserves a happy ending, Terra is waiting for you.

If you are interested in adopting Terra, please submit an inquiry directly to Greater Charlotte SPCA by visiting charlottespca.org/adopt. The adoption amount is a suggested donation of $200 to $300 dollars based on the pet's age.

**Because our rescue is composed entirely of volunteers, local applications will take precedence. We will accept out of town applications, but any family is responsible for coming to Charlotte to complete a meet and greet. All out of town applicants will also have to be willing to drive to Charlotte to pick up the pet as soon as they are approved to adopt. **
4/20/26 4:01 PM
