Teddy Tot's Story
Teddy Tot, born 11/6/2025, joined Mattie's Place via an emergency situation, which found him in a critical state with active respiratory distress (presumed strangulation or asphyxiation.

This sweet puppy stayed in emerge for 1 week and was discharged 100% recovered from his trauma.

He has been doing amazing in his foster home the past month and has left whatever happened to him in his previous home in the review mirror.

Teddy Tot is kid, cat, dog and all human friendly. He's just a really, really nice boy.

I will not put him in a home with young children, solely for his safety as he is a fragile puppy. Can he be around visiting kids? Absolutely. But day to day, an adult only home is preferred.

He weighed in at 3.9 KG/8.5 pounds February 28th at his last vaccine appointment. He was on the lean side. I would expect him to be a 20 pound fully grow adult dog, but I can't be certain and he could be 5 pounds over or under that weight range.

His adoption contract will have him on a non negotiable neuter clause, with his neuter being completed at a Mattie's Place veterinarian at the cost of Mattie's Place in June 2026.

Teddy Tot is still a puppy, so he'll need someone home mostly, to help him learn and grow through these informative months of life. He also exhibits separation anxiety in his foster home, so being home alone is a bit of a challenge at the moment, so an adopter working on that now, while he's still a puppy, will move him through this as he gets older and more confident. He's been through a lot in his young life already.

He will get a groom prior to adoption. I wanted to give him time post final vaccine before getting him to a groomer. A reminder that he'll also need to be professionally groomed every couple months, so you have to ensure you have a budget for that when adopting.

Teddy Tot is really just a sweet boy. He'll fit into many lifestyles and be an amazing companion.

FROM THE FOSTER;

Meet Teddy Tot, the shy guy with a secret mission: to turn every slipper into a gourmet delicacy and every human into his biggest fan!

Teddy Tot started off as our quiet little wallflower. Cautious at first, observing the world with those big curious eyes. But give him a couple of treats, toss a toy his way, and suddenly youāve got a bouncing ball of joy zooming around like heās training for the Puppy Olympics. He's a total ball of energy, always up for fetch or a good wrestle, bringing endless fun to the family. While he doesn't love being left alone; some signs of separation anxiety, we've seen great small improvements with gentle routines.

Heās full of puppy energy (and charm to match). Each potty break is less of a quick business trip and more of a mini adventure often featuring a dramatic leap from the deck straight into the garden. Teddy loves to experience life mostly through his mouth, which currently has a deep appreciation for slippers. We like to think heās just exploring his artistic phase. This energetic little pup loves nothing more than playing around with our two dogs, turning every play session into a whirlwind of wagging tails and happy zoomies.

Teddy thrives on routine. Breakfast is at 7ā8 a.m., dinner around 6ā7 p.m., and between that? A careful balance of zoomies, nap breaks (heās serious about those), and working on his skills. Heās learned āsitā, āpawā and ādrop itā like a champ, he likes to keep busy.

Potty training? Nailing it. Teddy signals when he needs to go by sitting patiently (or not-so-patiently) by the door, sometimes with a side of persuasive eye contact to make sure youāve got the message.

Crate training is still a work in progress. Heās not the biggest fan, but heās come an impressively long way. Once heās settled, he sleeps right through the night⦠as long as he knows his humans are nearby. He just wants to feel close to his people; his favorite thing in the world, besides snacks and slippers.

Teddy Tot is a smart, loving, high-spirited puppy whoās learning the ropes one wag at a time.

------------------------------------

$875 ADOPTION FEE INCLUDES: spay/neuter, deworming, flea/tick prevention, vaccinations, dentals if needed or any added surgical needed surgical care, food, nose to tail health exam, toys, leash|collar, winter coat (seasonal), poop bags, dishes and 30 days of Trupanion pet insurance with immediate coverage on adoption day for any illness or injury not pre-existing.

----------------------------------------

To note: the above description is relevant to this dog in it's current & previous setting.
