Teddy's Story
Hi, my name is Teddy, and I’ve had quite the journey for a young pup.

I’m a 1.5-year-old, 25-pound Cocker Spaniel who was adopted out from a local shelter and my family realized I needed more help than they could give me and asked FCCR for help. I’m a good boy who wants to please my humans — I’m just a pup who didn’t get the best start, and I’m still figuring this big, scary world out. New people, new dogs, new things on our walks (fire hydrants are SUSPICIOUS, okay?) — it can all be a lot for me at first. But here’s the thing: when I finally open up? I am the SWEETEST boy.

Once I trust you, I am kissy, cuddly, playful, and I will want to be by your side every single second. I love toys more than anything, and I will zoom around like the puppy that I still am. I do like to put a nose or hand (usually yours) in my mouth when I’m excited — it’s just my way of saying “HI I LOVE YOU PLAY WITH ME.” I’m crate trained, sleep through the night without a peep, and I’m mostly housebroken (nerves can get the better of me sometimes — I’m working on it!). I’ve even learned to share a home with a cat.

I would thrive with adopters who have patience, time, and a fenced-in yard (this really is a must have) where I can run out all this energy before settling in for a well-earned cuddle. I would probably do ok with older, dog-savvy kids since I can play hard and get excited. I’m working with a trainer on my leash manners and I’m already improving! I also have a sensitive tummy and do great on my prescription food and corresponding treats — I just can’t have extra goodies.

In a loving and patient home with my human’s guidance I can be the pawfect boy! Sit on the floor with me, offer me a treat, and give me a little time — I’ll give you my whole heart.

Apply to adopt me through our website, www.floridacockerrescue.org
Adoption fee: $395 See less
