Teddy's Story
Meet Teddy! Teddy is a 2-year-old, 62-lb Lab/Hound mix with long legs, a lanky frame, and an even bigger heart.

Since settling into his foster home, Teddy has truly come out of his shell. He was once unsure around all men, but he's made incredible progress. With his foster nearby, he'll happily let her fiance pet him, cuddle with him, and even play with toys together.

The sweetest part? Teddy now sleeps in bed with him - even when his foster isn't home! It's clear that with enough time, patience, and kindness, Teddy is open to being affectionate and trusting with men.

Teddy's superpowers include being one of the sweetest dogs you'll ever meet (we're talking full-on Velcro dog vibes), loving every toy in the toy basket, and being a loyal cuddle buddy who gets along great with other dogs.

He has a moderate energy level and is happy to match your pace - whether that's lounging on the couch, laying at your feet while you work, or having full-blown zoomies in the backyard.

Teddy is fully house-trained and crate-trained. He's been working on his leash skills and does best in calm, quiet, suburban environments with minimal street traffic - when the world feels peaceful, Teddy loves his walks!

Teddy also has some anxiety, but he's on daily medication that helps him manage it beautifully. With consistency, patience, and love, he's blossoming into a more confident pup every day.

If you're looking for a young, devoted dog who just wants to stay by your side and soak up all the love you have to give, Teddy might be your perfect match!

Teddy is currently being fostered in West New York, NJ. His adoption fee is $475.

To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt

All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.

For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.

We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.
