This handsome black-and-tan boy weighs about 65 pounds, though he still needs to fill out a bit—and somehow he still thinks he’s lap-sized.<br/><br/>One of Teddy’s very best qualities is how wonderful he is with children. He currently lives with three children under the age of five and has proven himself to be gentle, affectionate, and patient with them. Despite being a large, energetic young shepherd, Teddy has a soft nature around kids and truly enjoys being part of a family. Whether it’s following the kids around the house, relaxing nearby, or soaking up attention, Teddy loves being included in everyday life.<br/><br/>Teddy loves meeting new people, leans into you for pets, and happily follows his humans from room to room. He’s playful without being pushy, affectionate without being clingy, and always excited to see what the day brings. Teddy also loves other dogs and attends doggy daycare twice a week, where he plays well and makes friends easily. He would likely enjoy another playful dog companion, but would also be perfectly happy as the center of attention in an only-dog home.<br/><br/>This boy is smart, eager to learn, and highly trainable. He is house-trained, kennel-trained, rides nicely in the car, and already has a good start on basic obedience. He does have energy to spare, though, and will need an active home committed to exercise, structure, and continued training. Teddy is athletic and has been known to jump fences, so he’ll need a secure setup and supervised outdoor time. Like many shepherds, he also has a strong prey drive and would do best in a home without cats or other small animals.<br/><br/>Teddy isn’t looking for perfection—he’s looking for someone willing to give him the time, consistency, and love he deserves.
