******************************

Ted (the tiger horse) is 100 pounds of lovable energy. While he's not a pit bull, he has found a place with us. Ted is a BIG guy, and he'd love nothing more than to find an active home where he can play endless games of fetch and go on long walks. Ted is also an intelligent guy; he knows sit, down, stay, shake, high five, and kennels on command. He is fully kennel and house trained; he hasn't had a single accident in the eight months he's lived with us. He is kennel trained (both during the day and at night), but he really prefers to be near his people. He's formed strong bonds with a couple of us foster volunteers that he's stayed with, and he benefits immensely from a strong, structured person. He won't try to crawl on your lap, but he'll definitely lay down under your feet while you relax!

Kids- He lives with a 15 year old and an 11 year old, and he's thrilled when they want to play fetch or dig in the snow with him.

Dogs- He lives with a 65 pound female dog. With slow, controlled introductions, Ted has done well with her and with smaller dogs in another foster home. The ideal "slow introduction" would consist of potential weeks which would involve crate & rotate, time to bond with his new human(s), and to learn the structure of his new home. It may sounds like a lot at first, but it is a small price to pay for a better transition and hopefully a lifetime of fun together! He would also be fine as the only dog in his new home. Ted would play/roughhouse for days at a time (with a well-matched dog friend), so redirecting him as his playmates tire out is important for him.

Cats- Ideally, Ted would find a home without cats. He lives with 2 now, but he remains highly interested in what they're doing.

Ted would love a big yard to play in or places to go on walks with his family. He is still working on his nerves on car rides (he can be a bit whiny), but he loads right up and sits well when secured. He will bark to let you know that there's something going on, but we're working on him quieting down when directed.
