Taz's Story

Meet Taz! At 8 years old and about 78 pounds, Taz is a senior who’s ready to settle into a loving home. He is neutered and medically up to date, so he’s all set for his next chapter. Taz is sweet and friendly with people and enjoys human companionship, making him a wonderful candidate for someone looking for a loyal, affectionate companion.

Taz is still working on his potty training, but with a consistent routine, patience, and positive reinforcement, he has all the potential to truly blossom. He wants to do well and will benefit from a home that can provide structure and understanding.

When it comes to canine companions, Taz is selective with other dogs, so he may or may not be able to live with another dog. A meet-and-greet would be important to see if it’s a good match. We’re also unsure how he is with other animals or young children, so a calmer home environment may be the best starting point for him.

If you’re looking to open your heart to a devoted senior who still has plenty of love to give, Taz might just be your perfect match.

Since many of our adoptable dogs are in foster homes, appointments are highly recommended to ensure the animal you are interested in is currently at the shelter. Please call or e-mail the shelter to set up an appointment to meet and adopt!

Our adoption fees include the following: all of our dogs/puppies are current on vaccinations (DHPP and Rabies if over 3 months of age) at the point of adoption, dewormed, heartworm tested and current on preventative, microchipped, treated for fleas/ticks and are spayed or neutered. Our large dog adoption fee is generally $175 + tax. Our small dog and puppy adoption fee is generally $300+ tax. Adoption fees may vary in special circumstances. Due to space limitations, we do not hold dogs.

Because we are on a busy street, we require that all dogs leaving the shelter be in a carrier or on leash. All pets remain up for adoption until an approved application is processed and their adoption fee paid.
