TAWNY's Story

05/27/26 08:53 We can say with absolute certainty that Tawny is one of the sweetest dogs you'll ever meet!! She adores being around people and would bring so much love to your day. Tawny would love to have a place to call home so she can relax in and share her love to her family. Tawny is not asking for much, she'd be happy just sticking by your side while youre home!! She does however LOVE exploring outdoors and is very gentle and relaxed. PLEASE come give Tawny the calm, relaxing and love filled life she deserves!!! 05/04/26 11:35 Dog Day Out 4/29/26 Meet Tawny a 6 year old brown (Spayed) Chihuahua/mix. Tawny has a bit of trouble with mobility using her rear legs , but nothing seems to bother her outgoing adventurous spirit. She has been introduced to men, women, small / large dogs , and cats with no issues. Tawny seems to have persistent rear leg lameness when she's on runs, so maintaining a slower walking speed was essential when out on today's walk. Even with a slight disadvantage of those rear legs, nothing seems to stop her while on walk/hike. She is often food motivated, but while outside she is more interested in exploring her surroundings and maintaining a steady walking pace at all times. Up hill, over rocks/trees and even down hills she seems unbothered. No sensitivities when petting her head , chest , front/rear paws , tail , or when picking up. Tawny is an absolute rockstar, and definitely looking forward to our next Walk!! 04/02/26 Meet Tawny! Tawny has really been opening up since she came to the shelter in early March. At first she was super fearful and did not like people near her. Now she lets us pet her and she even asks for pets sometimes! She has always walked great on leash since she's been at the shelter, so going for walks could be a great way to bond with this shy girl. Tawny has been noted to have pelvic limb (hind limb) paresis, weakness of the rear legs, so a walk to a nice shady spot in the park to play may be perfect for this sweet girl. Tawny wants a calm home who will allow her time to get used to the new environment and let her true self come out. Tawny just needs time to feel safe again. Will you be able to do that for her? 03/20/26 13:18 Dog is very fearful in the shelter. Needs rescue.
