Tawny's Story

**Accepting Applications — Foster-to-Adopt • Available After Spay**

Meet Tawny, a stunning 4 year old Cane Corso who came in weighing a mere 90lbs.! Tawny arrived to us in heartbreaking condition — painfully underweight, itchy, raw skin, and a body score of 2. She should have been a large, powerful, majestic Cane Corso… but instead she was a ghost of herself. Those who know this breed understand their enormous, gentle hearts, and Tawny is no exception. Even in her fragile state, she greeted the world with soft eyes and a hopeful spirit.

Today, she is slowly filling back out with breakfast, lunch, dinner, and lots of love.
She adores treats, melts for kind voices, and leans into affection like she’s been waiting her whole life for someone to notice her.

Tawny is cautious at first meeting — a little grumble is her way of saying, “Give me a second, I’m figuring out if I’m safe.” But once she realizes kindness is coming her way, she opens up quickly and becomes a gentle, soulful sweetheart. She has done well with the dogs she’s met. This girl is a quiet survivor with a massive heart. She’s learning that she is safe, cared for, and allowed to relax — maybe for the first time ever.

Tawny will be spayed, vaccinated, microchipped prior to adoption. She has been dewormed, brought current on her vaccines, Heartworm Tested (NEGATIVE) and started on monthly preventatives. She is available through our Foster-to-Adopt program so she can continue her recovery in a quiet, loving home while completing her medical care.

Apply to adopt here:
https://orangecountyva.gov/159/Pet-Adoption-Foster-Care-Information
