Meet Tater!<br/><br/>Tater is a 3½-year-old red tri Toy Australian Shepherd with a bold personality, a silly streak, and a whole lot of heart. She’s a spicy little Tasmanian devil in the best way, determined, expressive, and endlessly entertaining, while still being deeply affectionate and loyal to her people.<br/><br/>Tater enjoys the company of other dogs of any size and plays easily, happily rolling around and inventing games with her canine friends. When she’s excited, her signature heart-shaped wiggle butt makes an appearance, just one more way she shows off her joyful, goofy side.<br/><br/>Being close to her people is important to Tater. She recently discovered pet stairs and now proudly climbs up to snuggle in bed overnight. She isn’t a fan of gates or barriers and prefers to stay in the same room with her humans, keeping an eye on everything and soaking up the companionship.<br/><br/>Tater loves walks and outdoor time, especially when she gets to keep watch on the yard and monitor squirrel activity. She’s alert, observant, and enjoys having a “job” to do.<br/><br/>She does wonderfully with grooming and handles brushing, baths, nail trims, and even teeth brushing with ease. She takes treats politely, eats her meals well without overeating, and maintains a healthy, balanced relationship with food. She is house trained and comfortable using potty pads as well, easily adapting to whichever routine her family prefers. <br/><br/>Tater arrived in rescue weighing about 30 pounds and is currently around 20 pounds. She has been making steady progress toward a healthy goal weight of approximately 15 pounds and is doing great on her wellness journey.<br/><br/>Tater is blind in one eye, with her remaining bright blue eye taking in the world quickly and attentively. Her vision difference doesn’t slow her down or affect her confidence in any way.<br/><br/>Because she’s very alert to small animals and loves to chase, Tater would not be a good fit for a home with cats or other small critters. She would thrive in an adult home or with older teens and would be happy as a companion dog or as a solo dog soaking up attention.<br/><br/>Tater is a big personality in a small package, funny, affectionate, determined, and full of charm.
