Tater's Story

I am a 5 year old love bug who was dealt some pretty tough cards before I made it to Orphan Annie. The majority of my life was spent stuck to a chain pacing in my yard, desperately hoping for the attention I deserved. My primary comfort was having my four-legged sisters and puppy brother there with me in that awful place - I didn’t have to face it all alone. When our volunteers first met me, I was scared and reserved - flinching at the slightest of movement. On top of my apprehension towards people, they found out that I was (unsurprisingly) heartworm positive. I had some real tough luck and they just couldn’t leave me behind at the shelter. After receiving my heartworm injections, I was placed into a foster home with wonderful people and welcoming dogs to help me ease into the home life with the familiarity of fellow rescue babies. My foster parents made me feel safe and soon gained my trust and wow have I flourished! I feel like I can be a happy dog again and not live my life on-guard!

I just wanted love and support from my people all along and boy am I relieved to finally have it in his foster home. All I need now is a home to call forever. I would do best in a calm home without young children so that I may be at ease. I enjoy the company of other dogs, but my main desire is the affection of humans.

If you are interested in adopting me, please apply online at www.orphanannierescue.org. My adoption fee is $250, which includes my neuter, shots, heartworm testing, and microchipping.

I am available for adoption in Georgia only.
