Hi! My name is Tanner and I'm looking for a cozy spot to land-whether that's a loving foster or my very own forever family! (Between you and me, I'm only about 6 years old and ready to bust out of this senior center.)<br/><br/>I just spent two weeks in a quiet home and got my report card, so here are some highlights. (Would you be surprised to learn I rocked it?!!!)<br/><br/>* World-Class Snuggler: Once I know you, I promise the absolute best hugs and snuggles in the whole wide world. I challenge you to find anyone who does it better!<br/>* Hugs: When I see the leash come out, I give you a big, gentle hug to show you how appreciative I am for your kindness. <br/><br/>The Basics: <br/>* Potty Trained: Fully trained! My foster mom had me wear a diaper for the first three days just in case because my hobby is a sniff & pee walk outside, but my diaper stayed 100% dry every single day. She says best to start with one for the first three days just in case!<br/>* Crate Superstar: I LOVE my crate. Once, my foster mom tested me alone for two hours outside my crate with the TV on. When she got back, she couldn't find me-I was tucked inside my crate!<br/>* My Schedule & Meals: Give me a little time to adjust to your routine. Right now, I like to potty early. Pro tip: feed me my kibble right after, and I'll happily let you sleep or relax for several more hours! I eat high-quality kibble out of a slow feeder, which keeps my tummy very happy.<br/>* Morning & Afternoon Zoomies: Most of the day, I lounge, but I do get energetic bursts twice a day around meal time! A morning walk or a game of fetch in a fenced yard is my favorite. If you delay my morning workout, I might sprint laps through the house to remind you that it's TIME!<br/><br/>Out & About:<br/>* Car Rides: I love going for rides and will happily leap right into the backseat and I've been all over San Diego County. I do get protective and bark loudly if the car is parked and people walk close by, but the second I hop out of the car, I stop.<br/>* Walking & Jogging: I mind my own business on walks, love to sniff, and would make a great running buddy if you're into jogging! I ignore other people and dogs (even barky ones). My foster mom used a "Do Not Pet" leash tag because she likes us to mind our own business on walks. <br/>* Reflection Drama: People tell me I'm weird, but my own reflection startles the living daylights out of me! If I see myself in a mirror or low-hanging TV screen, I'll bark. It's not you, it's me. I'll love you more if you accommodate me with covers. Windows don't really bother me though.<br/>* Meeting New Friends: It's 2026 and dogs are allowed to have boundaries. Fast approaches and affection from those I don't know startles me. Foster mom figured out a foolproof trick for visitors! We meet guests outside in front of the neighbor's house, go for a short walk together, and enter the house as a team. She then takes me leashed to my crate and shuts the bedroom door. I am so happy and quiet knowing what's expected of me.<br/>* Making Best Friends: On my first meeting with neighbor Jessica, we did a two block walk together. She then came inside with us (I stayed on my leash) and she tossed me some treats and gave me space. Within 45 minutes, we were on the couch and I was rolling over asking her for belly rubs! If you're hosting a big party, just put me in my bedroom crate with the TV on and a stuffie-I'll snooze right through it.<br/><br/>Tanner is eligible for the Molly & Me Paid Foster program as an only pet.
