Tanner's Story

There are some dogs everyone chooses and then there are the ones who choose you. Tanner is more of the latter, but we must note that this handsome guy has had his fair share of admirers. Having been a Frosted Face since 2024, after rescue from Devore Animal Shelter, Tanner loves his regular friends and volunteers and leans on them for consistency and affection. We know he has so much potential for a the best relationship like that with a new mom or dad!

What does Tanner's love look like? Immediate hugs upon meeting you at his kennel or entering his yard. Pressing his full body against you for scratches when you sit and rolling on his back for belly rubs. Tanner even responds well to training cues in the yard, on walks, and in a home environment to tell you he's trying his best.

Now 6 years old, our youngster has been spending his time on runs and hikes of 3+ miles with volunteers and staff. He went on two separate field trips with volunteers recently, and here are some things they learned:
* He's up for going anywhere! Tanner is a pro at car rides and went to Coronado Island, Balboa Park, hiked Iron Mountain and Daley Ranch. He's also happy to chill with you indoors and watch a movie.
* He may steal your socks or nibble on your blankets, but isn't trying to shred them! He also enjoys chewing on a stick or stuffy toy for comfort.
* Tanner takes treats gently and plays with hoses not gently... he loves to be sprayed!
* More of an introvert, Tanner doesn't want to be in crowds of people, but he accepts treats and slow introductions like a champ.

If you looking for a dog who will truly bond with you -a sidekick, a shadow, a partner for everyday life -please consider Tanner. He's been waiting for you!

Because Tanner needs to be the only dog in the home, he is eligible for our Molly & Me Project, a paid foster program.

REQUIREMENTS:
-No other animals of any kind in the household
-Submit weekly photos
-Live an enriching life and include the Frosted Face
-Demonstrate ability to avoid scenarios of negligence that would put the Frosted Face or
other animals at risk

INCENTIVES:
-$200.00/month for a term of 12 months
-We pay for veterinary expenses
-Donated food and supplies

To express interest in fostering or adopting Tanner, please email: placement@frostedfacesfoundation.org
