Tank's Story

It's very hard to capture all there is to Tank, but here's my crack at summing up my experience with him: He's an easygoing guy with a lot of charming and funny quirks. When he's excited, he spins; when you come home, he tippy-taps at impressive speed, and it's hard not to laugh. He has strong preferences for where to poop (mostly in holes and on inanimate objects), usually preceded by a quick spin into position that ranges from 40 degrees to 360. He falls asleep 30 minutes into every movie. He likes to sleep in whenever possible.

He gives the toy back when you play fetch. He prefers to communicate with his paws instead of his mouth, so he hardly ever barks. He relaxes by sunbathing or stretching out on a heated blanket -- or by putting his head in your lap. For excitement, he loves car rides and evening walks. Jazz music calms him down when he's scared. He trades kisses for scratches, and sometimes when you pet him, he looks at you like you're his favorite person in the
world. And even though he has his own pillow at the end of the bed, he's always right beside me when I
wake up in the morning.

He's been friendly with everyone he's met on his outings while in foster care (both dogs and people). He's curious, but not overbearing. He's lived with a cat for several weeks, and the two of them seem to be slowly becoming friends, peacefully sharing mealtimes and naps on the couch together
