Tank's Story
Meet Tank: A Gentle Soul Searching for His Forever Home

Tank’s story is one of heartbreak, resilience, and hope.
In his short life, Tank has already endured more than most dogs ever should. His first owner kept him confined in a horse stall—isolated, forgotten, and denied the love every dog deserves. Then came a glimmer of hope with a new owner, but that too was short-lived. After just over a year, Tank was abandoned once again. His owner moved away and left him behind like he didn’t matter.

For weeks, Tank wandered the streets of the town he once called home—cold, hungry, and alone. Community members spotted him searching for food, shelter, and safety, especially during severe storms. He was scared, but he never gave up. We watched helplessly as post after post appeared on social media, each one showing Tank trying to survive. No one could catch him—until we did.
Through determination and compassion, we finally brought Tank to safety. We tracked down his former owner, only to be told to “just keep him.” And so we did. We followed all the right steps with the county animal control since his owner was known, and now Tank is officially part of the Hounds of Freedom family.
And let me tell you—this boy is something special.
Tank is a husky but on the smaller size around 45lbs at about 3 years old, but not your typical one. He’s calm, obedient, and incredibly sweet. He knows his commands, walks beautifully on a leash, is kennel trained, and rarely barks. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs his size and absolutely adores human attention. As someone who lives with several huskies, I can honestly say Tank is one of the best I’ve ever met.
Despite everything he’s been through, Tank still believes in people. He still wags his tail. He still hopes.
Now, he just needs someone to believe in him.
Tank deserves a home where he’ll never be left behind again. A home with another dog to play with, a warm bed to sleep in, and a human who will love him unconditionally.
Can you be the one to give Tank the forever home he’s been waiting for?

https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/HOF/Dog
