Tamara's Story

Meet Tamara... aka Squirt
2.5 Months Old | Female | Terrier Mix (of some adorable variety!)

Tamara may be her official name... but around here she's earned the nickname Squirt—and once you meet her, you'll understand why. Small in size, big in personality, and impossible not to love.

Squirt can be a little shy when meeting new people or exploring new places, but underneath that cautious first impression is a puppy who absolutely melts for affection. Once she knows she's safe, she'll soak up every cuddle, snuggle, and ounce of attention you're willing to give.

She's doing wonderfully with her potty training and is already learning to use her puppy pads like a champ. Since she's still such a tiny girl, she's not quite ready to keep up with the bigger dog adventures happening around her foster home—but she's watching and learning every day.

Tamara is mostly all black with the cutest little white patch on her chest and white tips on her back toes—tiny details that somehow make her even more irresistible.

This sweet girl has beautiful manners too. She happily shares her toys and snacks with everyone... and sometimes even offers them to her humans. But don't let her quiet side fool you—when Squirt wants attention, she isn't afraid to tell you! She can be delightfully vocal about making sure she's included.

And speaking of included... if Tamara finds a way out of her puppy pen, she'll take it. Not to cause trouble—but because she simply wants to be where everyone else is. Even when she's feeling shy, she'd rather be near her people than alone.

Tamara is the kind of puppy who sneaks into your heart before you realize it happened. One look, one cuddle, and you'll understand why everyone calls her Squirt with a smile.

Come meet this tiny girl... but don't be surprised if she goes home with you.

If you are interested in adopting, please visit our website and complete an adoption application at www.elpasocountycanine.org/adopt

Please bear with us as we process applications! We are working on changing our processes to function during the COVID-19 outbreak.
