TALLEY's Story

?Talley’s personality from the time she meets you to when she takes you into her trusted circle will change dramatically … but is evidence of rejection and abandonment repeatedly in the past as well as more recent connections that didn’t “work out” because of quirks that couldn’t be overcome (like barking when someone comes home late at night and Talley and her person are already in bed). Talley was found (with her senior chi buddy) at a park on Busey Road over the Fourth of July weekend, obviously abandoned with no water source in the peak heat of the summer. As a devoted companion would, Talley evaded those trying to catch her until she led them to her senior chi buddy (who had crawled back in the bushes) and once she was safe, Talley then allowed herself to be leashed.

Talley is an amazing girl, but she needs a low key lifestyle as it appears that she has definitely been mistreated over the years. She’s definitely more comfortable with woman for the most part but has her special guys in her life as well. She enjoys playing with toys and going for walks and car rides! She is 150% housebroken and does not chew! She prefers to sleep at the foot of your bed and laying beside you on the couch or lounging in the lazy boy. She can be crated but definitely doesn’t need to be. She can coexist with other dogs but prefers those her size or smaller and ones who are not up in her face. In fact, if up to Talley, she’d love to be asked with her buddy Teddy … a big request but if we don’t ask, we’ll never know if it’s a possibility.

We estimate Talley to be a Dachshund, Corgi, Chi mix but that’s a guess! We estimate her to be about 4-5years and about 20lbs

If you would like to meet TALLEY please complete an application for adoption, copy and paste this link into your browser

https://fs17.formsite.com/adoptionscc/form1/
Any vaccinations/boosters due after adoption is finalized will be the new owner's responsibility. All animals are current at time of adoption but in some cases a booster series is required or a vaccine cannot be given due to age and cannot be completed prior to adoption

Our adoptable animals come to us from various sources, the most common being from an animal shelter who is unable to handle their physical or mental needs in the shelter setting but believe with the appropriate care, they can become adoptable.
