Talia's Story
Pet Location: Wayside’s Canine Behavior Center – I'd love to show off all the cool things I’ve learned at Wayside! Please arrive at the shelter before 4pm on our open adoption days to meet me!

My Friends at Wayside say:
- I am enrolled in Confidence College. This is a program for dogs to build confidence and learn that the world is not so scary. My adoption comes with a free 30-minute private training session.
- I am from a hoarding situation. I will likely need extra time to adjust to home life. I have lived with other dogs but have not socialized with people. Things like walking on a leash and going through doorways can be challenging for me. Adopting me will be extremely rewarding, but I need time to learn.
- I’m a shy dog and need someone willing to be patient with me.
- I'm learning that pets and belly rubs are pretty nice, as long as it's on my terms!
- I am eligible for a Slumber Pawty, a 7-10 day in-home trial period. Please visit our website for additional information.

My home needs are:
- I need a home with kids 6 years old and older since I tend to be nervous around new people and loud noises.
- A fenced yard is a must for me! I need a secure area to run around and release my energy.
- I must meet other dogs in the home before adoption to ensure that we can be buddies.
- Special Request from Talia: For my safety, I need to go home on an anti-slip collar called a martingale collar. For your convenience, we sell them in our retail store, Whiskers and Wags.

Check out my super cool new video! I came from a hoarding situation, so new people and experiences can make me a bit nervous at first. Because of that, I’m looking for a patient and understanding person who will give me the time and space I need to feel safe and build confidence. The good news? I’m already working hard on that! I’m currently enrolled in Confidence College, where I’m learning new skills and gaining bravery every day. With the right support, I know I’ll keep blossoming into a more confident and happy girl.

One thing that really helps me come out of my shell is other dogs. I absolutely love playing with my doggie friends! Having a canine friend around is a huge comfort to me, and I’d need to meet any potential dog siblings before heading home to make sure we’re a good match. Once I feel comfortable, you’ll see my fun, bouncy side come to life. I get the cutest zoomies and love to bounce around and play!

I also enjoy enrichment activities that keep my mind busy and help me feel more at ease. A fenced yard is a must for me so I can safely run, explore, and let out all that playful energy. I may start off shy, but underneath it all is a sweet, playful girl who just wants to feel safe and loved. If you’re willing to go slow with me and celebrate the little wins along the way, I promise you’ll get to see a truly special side of me. I can’t wait to find a home where I can keep growing, playing, and finally just be a carefree pup.

Love, Talia
