Hi, my name is Taffy and I'm an awesome girl! I'm a small Australian Shepherd mix who is just over a year old and very cool looking with a stunning white coat and the cutest spotted ears. I'm living with a great Foster family in New Jersey and they think I'm a small Shepherd mix and I have the best qualifies of the breed. Here's some more fun info on me: * Super sweet and love everyone I meet..adults and kiddos! * Really popular with other pups....I love to play with all ages & sizes of pups * I love going on car rides especially if we go to the dog park to play! * Joyful personality comes out in my pics.....see my smile? * Walks great on a leash & love to go for walks in the neighborhood and play in the backyard * Lots of fun energy and would be a great running partner * I'm super treat and toy motivated which makes me so easy to train * Perfect medium sized girl at 38 pounds and love my treats * Totally house-trained and crate trained too * Loyal, loving and can't wait to find my forever family! Long Road Home's Adoption Policy

Where do we get our dogs? Majority of our dogs come from high kill shelters. Some are owner surrender or strays. All of the dogs that come into our rescue have been in high emergency situations where they would not be wagging their tails. We work with a lot of shelters in the south as well as on long island. We have wonderful people who dedicate their time to the dogs and transport them into our long island foster homes. What happens to the dog after we accept it into the program? All of the dogs first go to see a vet. Once they receive a clean bill of health the go into a home. We normally give each dog at least a week in a home with qualified trainer before we place the dog into a foster. We really like to have the dogs house broken and to have at least started basic obedience training. After the trainer we place the dog into its new foster home until it finds its forever home.
