EMERGENCY - TAFFY NEEDS OUR IMMEDIATE HELP! Available as a Foster or Foster to Adopt. <br/>Taffy is a beautiful and sweet 2 year old small girl who has been in a foster home and we can't figure out why she hasn't been adopted because she so pretty, smart and sweet! She is losing her foster home this weekend and has NO place to go. We don't want her to go to a Shelter so hoping we can find a new Foster for her ASAP! <br/>She's really a great girl: <br/>* Super sweet and loves everyone she meets..adults and kiddos!<br/>* Really popular with other pups....loves to play with all ages & sizes of pups<br/>* Love going for far rides especially if she's going to the dog park!<br/>* Joyful personality comes out in her pics.....see my smile?<br/>* Walks great on a leash & love to go for walks in the neighborhood and play in the backyard<br/>* Lots of fun energy and would be a great running partner<br/>* Super treat and toy motivated which makes her so easy to train<br/>* Perfect medium sized girl at 38 pounds and loves her treats<br/>* Totally health, house-trained and crate trained too<br/><br/>Taffy will thrive with a fully fenced yard so she can play to my heart's content. Long Road Home's Adoption Policy
Where do we get our dogs? Majority of our dogs come from high kill shelters. Some are owner surrender or strays. All of the dogs that come into our rescue have been in high emergency situations where they would not be wagging their tails. We work with a lot of shelters in the south as well as on long island. We have wonderful people who dedicate their time to the dogs and transport them into our long island foster homes.   What happens to the dog after we accept it into the program? All of the dogs first go to see a vet. Once they receive a clean bill of health the go into a home. We normally give each dog at least a week in a home with qualified trainer before we place the dog into a foster. We really like to have the dogs house broken and to have at least started basic obedience training. After the trainer we place the dog into its new foster home until it finds its forever home.
