Taco's Story

Meet Taco 🌮 – Your Goofy, Adventurous Best Friend

Taco is a handsome, almost 1-year-old pup bursting with personality, joy, and all the lovable quirks that make young dogs so much fun. He’s a floppy, goofy sweetheart who lives to play, explore, and keep his people smiling.

One of Taco’s favorite activities is riding in the car—especially in the front seat where he can watch the world go by. He’s a social butterfly at the dog park and plays well with other dogs, bringing fun and energy wherever he goes.

Taco has medium-to-high energy and is looking for an active home where he can truly thrive. A larger fenced yard where he can run and burn off energy would be ideal, or an adopter who enjoys hiking, adventures, and staying active. He absolutely loves playing ball and would happily spend hours playing fetch with his favorite people.

Like many young dogs, Taco is still learning his manners. He’s currently working on loose leash walking and can be strong on the leash, but he’s smart, treat-motivated, and eager to please. With consistency and some obedience training, he has all the potential to become an incredibly well-mannered companion.

His toy collection is his pride and joy—especially his beloved squeaky Angus bull plushie, which he plays with every night before bed. He also enjoys chew toys and is learning what’s appropriate as he continues to grow out of his puppy phase.

Taco will now settle nicely in his crate, showing great progress and readiness to continue learning structure and routine in his forever home.

With his expressive eyes and one ear that’s always perked straight up, Taco is full of charm and personality. Because of his energy and strength, he would do best in a home without very young children. Older kids or teens would be great companions for him. He’s unsure about cats—he wants to play, but his enthusiasm may be a bit much.

Taco is truly a good dog who just needs time, guidance, and a little training to become his very best self. In return, he’ll give you endless laughter, loyalty, and love.

✨ Taco’s Personality Highlights:
• Goofy, playful, and affectionate šŸ’•
• Medium–high energy ⚔
• Loves toys, fetch, water, and adventures 🌊
• Social and friendly with other dogs
• Smart, treat-motivated, and eager to learn 🦓
• Crate trained and settling well
• Thrives with structure, exercise, and consistency
• Big personality with lots of lovable ā€œteenageā€ charm šŸ˜„

šŸ“ Location: Houston, Texas (foster home)
šŸ” Rescue: Saving Pups of Texas (501(c)(3))
šŸ’µ Adoption Fee: $600
🚐 Transport: Available for out-of-state adopters ($350, USDA-certified transport teams)

🩺 Vet Care:
āœ”ļø Vaccinated
āœ”ļø Microchipped
āœ”ļø On flea, tick, and heartworm prevention
āœ”ļø Neutered

šŸ’Œ If you’re looking for a fun, loyal, and adventurous companion—and you’re ready to help a young dog reach his full potential—Taco might be your perfect match.

šŸ“ How to Adopt:
āž”ļø Submit an adoption application
āž”ļø Our team will review and contact approved applicants
āž”ļø A meet-and-greet and transport details will be arranged

šŸ’¬ Please note: We prioritize the best match for Taco, not first come, first served.

šŸ‘‰ Apply to adopt: www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/TXS/Dog
