TACO's Story
Taco was a miracle rescue. He followed some tourists in the small town of San Pancho, Mexico. They could not keep him at their hotel, but could not stop thinking about him and how sweet he was. They looked the next day for him but could not find him. They reached out to the local rescue in hopes they knew him, but they did not have a photo, so identifying him was not possible. The couple was willing to help a dog by fostering and helping to find a forever home. Now the rescue had just received a notice of a stray dog in a neighborhood, that had not been seen there before. All due diligence was done to find out if he had owners, no-one came forward so he was now in the rescue program. He was neutered, vaccinated, had all his blood work and vet care. The rescue asked if the couple would take him instead and when they saw the photo they realized it was the very same dog they had been trying to find! They were not in a position to adopt but really wanted to help this dog start a new life. Taco flew with them to Portland and they are fostering this sweet big boy till he finds his people. He is a good boy, and wants a family to call his own. He will be a big boy when he fills out. He would love someone who is active, and hikes, or likes long walks. He has no separation anxiety, He walks well on a leash. Being such a big guy he would benefit from some training. He has a story to tell, do you want to hear his secrets?
