Sydney's Story
NOTE: SYDNEY IS ON HER WAY HOME TO RHODE ISLAND. SHE IS JOINING ANOTHER DOG AND LIVING WITH HER NEW FAMILY OVERLOOKING THE OCEAN. WE WARNED HER NEW OWNERS HOW SMART SHE IS. WE THINK WE FOUND THE PERFECT HOME FOR THIS FUN LITTLE DOG. WE HOPE THEY THINK SHE'S THE PERFECT DOG!
Sydney is a darling little terrier from the local pound. She is between 1 and 2 years old and weighs about 17 pounds. We think from her markings and from her personality that she is a "Border Jack" which is an intentional cross between a Jack Russell and a Border Collie. They are bred for agility dogs and Sydney certainly has what it takes. She is lightening fast, very agile, very tuned into her owner and extremely smart!
Sydney gets along with everyone and everything. She is great with dogs of all sizes, with cats and children. She does not have a preference between men and woman. She is house trained, crate trained, leash trained and loves to ride in the car. She is very affectionate and as much as she loves to race around and play she loves to curl up with you on the sofa. Sydney's love for attention would make her a great therapy dog for someone who wants to share their dog with others. Go to http://therapydogs.com/ for more information.
This super little dog would do best in a home where someone is not working a typical 40 hour week; works from home, works part time, can take their dog to work, is a stay at home parent or retired. She will need a fenced yard for her to run and play in and keep her safe. She will need a family or person who wants their dog to be very much a part of their life. Sydney would do best with children 8 and older.
If you think that your lifestyle and environment will fit with Sydney's needs please e-mail learymjri@aol.com for an application. The e-mail link on this page does not always go through. NOTE: Star-Mar Rescue does not pay for dogs that come into our program; not from puppy mills, from craig's list, etc. Dogs are either relinquished by their owners or pulled from pounds/shelters/humane societies.
Thank you for considering to adopt a rescue dog!
