Sweets's Story

This is Sweets -she is rat terrier 4-5 years old that came to us from animal control -her owner fell on hard times and was no longer able to care for her. Sweets definitely earned her name -she is a "sweet" dog who just wants a lap to lay in. After some much needed veterinary care, she is ready to be adopted! Sweets is a calm dog that needs a calm home. She knows basic commands. Other dogs and pets would be fine as long as they are laid back like her. Older children would probably be fine as long as they are gentle. Sweets is up to date with shots, spayed, housebroken, and treated for heartworms/current on heartworm prevention. All she needs now is a new forever home. If you would like give that to her, please visit www.myhstc.org and submit an adoption application. Adoption fee is $85 and includes all veterinary care. We prescreen all applicants prior to a meeting. To be screened, please complete an adoption application at www.myhstc.org We do allow out of area adoptions. However, we do not transport nor ship sight unseen pets for many reasons. We require travel in person adoption.

Humane Society of Terrell County's Adoption Policy

All HSTC pets are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, heartworm tested, dewormed and on monthly prevention medications for heartworms and fleas; it is our goal to make sure all pets are healthy while under our care. The adoption fee for dogs is $85 and cats $75 (we will discount if more than one pet is adopted at the same time or the adoptee is taking on some type of medical care). We do allow out-of-state adoptions, however, transportation is the responsibility of the adopter. We require a completed adoption application with a vet reference provided. We will call your vet to verify your information. Adoption applications are approved on a case-by-case basis, taking into consideration matching the needs of the pet to an owner. Some long distance adoptions may also require a home visit from a local animal rescuer in the adopter’s area. HSTC does not have a shelter!!
