Sweetie's Story

Meet Sweetie!

This adorable, high-energy boy is ready for pre-adoption and will be able to go home once he’s neutered and up-to-date on vaccines. Sweetie is around 4.5-5 months old, weighs just 13 lbs, and we anticipate he’ll stay on the smaller side—likely under 25–30 lbs fully grown—but we can’t make any promises. Without a DNA test, his breed can’t be confirmed, but he appears to be a Jack Russell mix.

Sweetie’s story began when he ended up in a shelter before a wonderful vet tech stepped in to foster his entire family. Since August, he’s been growing up in a loving foster home, giving him a head start compared to most shelter pups. He’s already been introduced to crate training, is doing well with potty training, and is learning the basics of good house manners.

His personality is blossoming—playful, curious, and always eager to explore. He’s been socialized with dogs of all sizes and plays well with everyone he meets. Sweetie has also been introduced to cats and could live with them successfully given slow, supervised introductions. While he’d enjoy having a canine sibling, it’s not required. Like most puppies, he has his mischievous moments—chewing, nipping, and testing boundaries—so a family familiar with normal puppy behavior is important. For this reason, we recommend a home with older, dog-savvy kids rather than toddlers.

Sweetie is looking for a forever family who will not only love him but also keep helping him learn and grow. He’ll thrive with regular potty breaks, daily exercise, mental enrichment, and positive reinforcement training. He’s a smart, eager-to-please pup who will flourish in a home committed to continuing his training and providing guidance. While a fenced yard is ideal, it’s not a strict requirement, and we’re open to apartments on a case-by-case basis. Even though he’s young, he’s already showing a high-energy temperament that likely comes from his breed mix, so a home with similar breed experience would be wonderful (but not required).

Adoption Requirements:
-Breed experience preferred but not required

Health:
Sweetie will be neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and on monthly preventatives before going to his forever home. He is too young for heartworm testing but is healthy and ready to go home.

Transport Info:
All of our dogs, including Sweetie, are currently located in Texas and will be transported only after adoption. The adoption fee includes transportation. While breed is based on visual assessment, we encourage adopters to focus on personality, lifestyle fit, and long-term commitment—not breed labels.

MA License #479
