Sweet Pea's Story
Meet Sweet Pea. This pretty girl was rescued from a home after being left behind by her owner, who moved away and left her and her newborn puppies with roommates who were not able to take on the responsibility. They reached out to rescue for help. When we arrived, Sweet Pea and her pups were being kept in a cold, drafty area in a very small crate with little room to move. The conditions were not good for this little family.

Sweet Pea was fortunate to find her way to rescue, where she finally had a safe, comfortable foster home to care for her puppies. She was a very attentive and dedicated mom and did a great job raising them. Her puppies have now been weaned and have all found their forever homes, so it’s finally Sweet Pea’s turn.

For the past five weeks, Sweet Pea has been fostered with Laine, Gary, and their pack of four dogs. She loves being part of a pack and acclimated very easily. She seems to naturally understand which dogs want to play and which prefer their space, and she is respectful of both.

Her foster mom describes her as a wonderful dog. "She is very loving, crate trained, and house trained, and knows “sit” and “shake.” She enjoys playing but is also calm and easy in the home. She loves lying in the sun, rides well in the car, and walks nicely on leash, unless a squirrel crosses her path. She really enjoys playing chase with other dogs and would love a home with a playful companion. She also enjoys her toys, especially squeaky ones, and is great at keeping herself entertained."

Sweet Pea has been on multiple outings and has done very well. She is a social, confident dog who enjoys meeting new people and does great at the vet. She really just wants to be part of what’s going on and be near her people. She has also done well with kids and would make a wonderful family dog.

Sweet Pea is a well-rounded, adaptable dog who would do well in many homes. She deserves a stable, loving home where she will be part of the family and never left behind again.

Apply today!
