Suzy's Story

*STURDY FENCE REQUIRED*
*FOSTERED IN PENSACOLA*

Introducing Her Royal Highness Suzy, a majestic 7-year-old black female Great Dane whose story of resilience matches her regal spirit. Suzy isn't just any dog; she's Queen Bossypants Diva with a penchant for taking charge and ruling her pack with an iron paw.

Suzy’s journey began with a family who unfortunately couldn’t provide her with the care, food, and attention she deserved. Left to live outside, Suzy quickly mastered the art of escapades and became somewhat of a legend in the community for escaping the backyard to roam a busy highway intersection in Pensacola, often finding herself listed on lost and found pet pages, a testament to her determination and survival instincts.

Suzy came into rescue after she was confiscated due to neglect, starving, sick and heartworm positive.

After spending a few months in rescue boarding, HRH Suzy now lives in the comfort of a foster home and reigns supreme from her throne (the couch) alongside a loving couple and their two peasants, oops we mean Great Danes, Finn and Waylon.

With her foster parents, she's a sweetheart, melting hearts with her affectionate nature and love for head rubs and butt scratches. No longer a stranger to civilized living, her royal highness actually boasts impeccable house manners and a knack for being fully house trained.

When it comes to walks, HRH Suzy is a decent companion on the leash, though she may need a gentle reminder to stay in line, especially in a pack. But fear not, a gentle leader works like magic to keep her in check. Pill time is a breeze with Suzy; just pop it in a pill pocket, and she'll gladly gulp it down without any fuss. Plus, she's a champ when it comes to handling—feel free to manipulate her paws, teeth, and ears to your heart's content, and she won't bat an eyelash.

HRH Suzy is a natural-born explorer with a knack for adventure, often caught sneaking into forbidden territories (like the kitchen counters, the garbage can and the construction dumpster) for tasty treats and treasures.

And let's not forget her royal demeanor... Suzy knows she's the queen, and she'll make sure every other peasant, especially Finn and Waylon, knows their place in her kingdom (aka couch and yard).

Her escapades don't end indoors; Suzy is a bit of a Houdini with fences and gates (which is why she requires a sturdy 6-foot fence), and she loves to voice her opinions, making herself heard while in the backyard.

Despite her mischievous streak, Suzy's heart of gold and quick wit make her an enchanting companion for any household willing to give her the royal treatment she deserves. She would prefer a calm environment as the only dog or with a very submissive and calm canine companion who won't question her authority and superiority.

Ready to welcome Queen Suzy into your realm? She's waiting for her happily ever after! Could it be you?

Suzy is spayed, current on vaccines and microchipped. She is being treated for heartworms the slow kill method with Doxycycline and ProHeart 12. Her adoption fee is $300. To read over our adoption requirements and apply to adopt Suzy please go to www.nwflgdr.com/adopt.

Please note: NWFLGDR does not transport. All approved adopters are required to pick up the dog in person from his / her foster parent or boarding facility.

We will not adopt Dogs to be used as guard dogs or to be kept out-of-doors. 7. A home visit is required for ALL adoptions, without exception.
