Sunshine's Story

MEET SUNSHINE

Sunshine's story began in Texas, where she was rescued from a hoarding situation involving approximately 50 dogs. She came to Iowa alongside Arlo and Paloma, and just like them, Sunshine has had to learn that people can be trusted and that life can be more than simply surviving.

Sunshine is a very timid girl. New people and new situations can be overwhelming for her, and she needs time to feel safe. But once she begins to warm up, we get to see little glimpses of the dog hiding underneath that shyness. She loves playing with other dogs, and watching her relax and interact with them has been pretty special.

And now, Sunshine has taken a BIG next step. She has moved into a foster home!

We are beyond thrilled to see what happens when Sunshine gets the chance to experience life outside of a shelter environment. A home, a routine, a comfortable place to sleep, and the opportunity to watch other dogs simply be dogs could open up a whole new world for her.

We have a feeling this is only the beginning. We can't wait to see what new skills she learns, what little quirks emerge, and most importantly, what kind of personality Sunshine discovers she is allowed to have.
