Sunny's Story

UPDATE! This little mighty guy has come around to his foster mom in rescue for sure . It took about three weeks . Sunny is still fearful with other dogs and will bark at them , much time will be needed to get him to get used to other dogs . He is perfectly housebroken but not leash trained so fenced in yard needed for sure . This little dog is totally devoted to you and affectionate with time . A true success story !

Sunny is one of the dogs we accepted after hearing about a group of chihuahuas that were left on their own to survive . We had to get them out of the heat and before fireworks started !

So far Sunny allows pets in a few days and is taking treats from our hand . He still needs a blanket to be picked up but he is showing signs of coming around slowly . Sunny will be the most devoted pet to someone that loves a project and willing to give him so much time .

Sunny is well crate trained and prefers to go to the bathroom outside . He needs slow introductions to other dogs .

In rescue they need time and space and they will reward you with much love .
We estimate is his age at 5 to 6 years old and weight is about 8 pounds .
Application is at stlsdp.org .
