Sunday is a Labrador Retriever, as far as what the owner has told us. She lived in a loving home out of state when her owner moved to Bedford and sadly, life changes and her owner had to surrender Sunday. Sunday was born in March of 2023 and lived with other dogs and was raised with children. She is a lot of puppy herself. She does well in a house and walks well on a leash. Sunday deserved a lifetime of love with a family who will love and take care of her. Sunday is spayed and up to date on medical vaccines. Sunday is microchipped and BHS will register this microchip into the new owner's information. Sunday's adoption fee is $300, due to the medical and care Sunday has already received to get her to this point. Apply at bhsva.org. After a veterinary examination, we received heartbreaking news—this sweet 3-year-old girl is heartworm positive. Heartworm disease is serious and, if left untreated, it can be fatal. The good news is that heartworm is treatable, and Sunday has every chance to live a long, happy life. The difficult part is that treatment is expensive.<br/><br/>The BHS is committed to giving Sunday that chance, but we can't do it alone. We have some funding available, but we need our community's help to cover the cost of her lifesaving treatment.<br/><br/>Sunday didn't choose to be surrendered. She didn't choose to become sick.
