Summer's Story

Summer had a very rough start. She was seized by animal control in Glynn County after having been left in a crate in 115 degree heat index. She is very shy about new people and new sounds. She is fine with other dogs but definitely not able to co-habitate with cats. She seems more wary of men than women, though our shelter volunteers are working to gain her trust. She gets a little nervous about car rides, too, but probably because she hasn't had someone to take her for doggy cones regularly. She would be a great couch potato for a family with older kids who will give her time to warm up.

Coastal Pet Rescue's Adoption Policy
All Coastal Pet Rescue pets are current on shots, microchipped* and spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Adopters are responsible for any shots that may be due after adoption (particularly for kittens and puppies that must have three rounds of shots to be protected). Out of Area Coastal Pet Rescue does not ship or "transport" animals out of area. All adopters must be available to come to Savannah, GA to complete the adoption after approval. Microchip: CPR has implanted a microchip as part of the adoption process and the chip is included in the adoption fee. However, some chip companies require a registration fee varying from $9.99 to $19.99. The registration fees are the responsibility of the adopter and are NOT included in the CPR adoption fee. Adopters may add this cost to their adoption fee to have CPR register the chip on their behalf. Adoption Fees: Kittens: $60, Cats (1 year plus): $50, Puppies: $250, Adult Canines (1 to 6 years): $200, Seniors (7 years plus): $100 (unless otherwise specified). Adoption fees are not a tax-deductible donation as allowed by IRS regulations. Adoption fees help to offset the cost of the pet's care incurred by Coastal Pet Rescue, which are generally 2 to 3 times the adoption fee amount.
