Sully's Story

Yes, he’s named like the Monsters character, and he’s big and blue, fluffy and cuddly, but he’s not just an imaginary guy! You can take him home and snuggle him in real life! He would love if you’d take him for rides to the coffee stand or tractor supply, play games of fetch in the yard, take field trips to the beach or hikes in the forest, but he has a great off switch and will happily curl up on the couch for a lazy evening in.

Sully truly is a "plug and play" dog. He has excellent house manners, did great at the groomers, and walks well on leash. He is a happy dog and his stubby tail wiggles all the time. He does great meeting new dogs and people, but does jump up when he's excited. He is very smart and listens well. Even though he grew up on a rural property, he hasn't shown any anxiety and has adapted surprisingly well to living in a neighborhood, especially one under construction. He is curious, funny, craves attention, loves to play and is eager to please. He does chew up stuffed toys, much to his foster dog sibling’s disgust.

At 7 years old and 65#, he is the perfect gentleman and just the right temperament for someone who loves herding breeds but doesn’t have the ability to entertain a youngster. He has lived with cats and livestock, but he would prefer if any dog siblings were easy going He doesn’t love when other dogs torment him and get right up in his face. He would be happiest in a home where his family is active but not chaotic, where any kids are older so that he doesn’t have to worry about accidentally knocking them over. Whoever his new people are, they will want to plan on buying new stuffy toys regularly. Maybe they’d want to take him to obedience classes or agility. He would be an adult excellent sidekick to a single person who would take him to their rural worksites or on road trips. He’s outgoing with people but can be overwhelmed in noisy, hectic environments.

If you are interested in adopting Sully, please fill out the application on our website at: https://www.westernaustralianshepherdrescue.com/adoption-application.html.

We only schedule meet n greets after a completed application which includes a home visit and reference checks.
